I created this website for my Saturday Morning Men’s Bible Study group. Our group memorizes Bible verses, and it seemed like a great idea for a web app.
Once a user creates an account on the website, they are presented with a list of groups to subscribe to. They can also create their own group(s). I even created my own API that this web app uses to auto fill the Bible verse(s) the user searches for in almost any Bible translation they want via the BibleGateway.com website.
Each group contains a list of Bible verses to study. I made the app work similar to studying from note cards. Clicking the Show/Hide icon allows you to study the verse, hide it, then attempt to recite it back to yourself in your mind. I even created a neat feature that I call show blanks that hides every few words when you click the Hide/Show icon. The user is able to set the level of difficulty for the show blanks feature, which determines how many words to show between the blank spaces.
All the data storage and user authentication is handled with Google Firebase.
